There is a history of business relations between India and China date back to at least 2nd century B.C.

Indian movies are popular since old times, Indian films like Awaara, Caravan, and Do Bigha Zameen, as well as stars like Raj Kapoor and Nargis left a lasting impression on Chinese audiences. In recent times, 3 Idiots, PK, and in Dangal has been a big success. There are many followers for Yoga and Buddhism from India in China. Indian medicines and herbal cosmetics are in high demand in China.

The IT sector in China has several Indians playing a pivotal role. Students from India can be seen all across China for professional courses.

India and China have had excellent relations in old times, and there is a history of Indian and Chinese soldiers fighting shoulder to shoulder against Japan during the 2nd world war. There is a Second World War cemetery of Chinese soldiers at Tinsukia district, Assam, and similarly, The Sai Wan Bay Memorial in Hong Kong has a graveyard for Indian Soldiers.

The China-India bilateral trade volume is now over more than 80 billion US dollars. Cumulative Chinese investment in India is nearly 8 billion US dollars. Over 500 Chinese companies have established themselves in India. Over 1 million people traveled between our two countries last year. There are more than 80 flights between the two countries every week.

China is the second-largest economy in the world, with a GDP of 11 trillion US dollars and India is among the fastest-growing economies. Both countries are key members of BRICS.
