Shantou

Shantou is an important city for being the most critical open-to-the-world harbors, both in the Guangdong Province and in China. It is in the southeast corner of East Asia, on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean, and boarding on the South Sea. It is one of the five special economic zones of China. This place is the fourth most populous city in the country. It is a densely populated place.

Many overseas Chinese in Cambodia and Thailand are from this part of the country. People in this city are known to “drink more tea than anyone else in the country.”

This town uses its convenient geographic location for attracting high foreign investments; as of now, from 165 countries. It is host to more than fifty multinational corporations among which, eleven are the world’s top 500 enterprises. It is the seventh-best commercial city in the country.
