SAR (Special Administrative Region)

Special Administrative Regions (SAR) are established specially designed for solving Hong Kong and Macao issues and based on the concept of "one country, two systems", SAR is in a pattern within which two completely different social systems (socialist system and capitalist system) and ideologies can coexist, SAR has more autonomous power regulated clearly by laws, including executive, legislative and independent judicial power. China currently has two administrative regions: Hong Kong and Macao (Macau).Special Administrative Regions (SAR) are established specially designed for solving Hong Kong and Macao issues. It is based on the concept of “one country with two systems”. SAR is in a pattern within which two completely different social systems (socialist system and capitalist system) and ideologies can coexist. SAR has more autonomous power clearly regulated by laws, including executive, legislative and independent judicial power. They enjoy highest level of autonomy. There is no direct interference of central Government or Communist party. SAR have their own Government and are like separate countries. China currently has two administrative regions: 

Hong Kong 

Macao (Macau).
