Hsinchu City is in northern Taiwan in the southwest of the capital city of Taipei. It has a nickname of the ‘Windy City’ for its windy climate and is home to the ornate Hsinchu City God Temple, and the food stalls around. Yin Hsi East Gate, a 19th-century structure once used as an entrance of the city is nearby. Zoo in this city is the house for hippos, Bengal tigers, and Malay bears. Southeast from the center is trails of the forested Shibajian (18 Peaks) Mountain.
